Saptrishi Soni: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that the overwhelming public response during a recent public interaction programme in Budhlada reflects the trust and affection people have for his government, asserting that genuine public support cannot be matched by what he described as “hired crowds” mobilised by political opponents.
Sharing his views after the event, the Chief Minister said the large turnout of people at the public meeting brought him immense satisfaction and reinforced his government’s commitment to serving the people of Punjab. He noted that the gathering was a reflection of the strong bond between the government and citizens, built on the foundation of development-oriented governance and public welfare initiatives.
Mann took a swipe at opposition parties, alleging that they were attempting to use religion as a political shield and were engaging in opposition merely for the sake of opposing the government. He said that the people of Punjab are fully aware of the motives and actions of those who, according to him, have previously worked against the interests of the state and have been associated with controversies surrounding incidents of sacrilege.
The Chief Minister maintained that Punjabis are politically aware and capable of distinguishing between genuine public service and political theatrics. He said that efforts to mislead people through divisive narratives would not succeed, as citizens are increasingly focused on issues related to governance, development and their future.
Highlighting the priorities of his government, Mann said the administration remains firmly focused on accelerating Punjab’s development and improving the lives of its people. He reiterated that the government would continue working tirelessly to strengthen infrastructure, enhance public services, create employment opportunities and ensure overall progress across the state.
“The people of Punjab have placed their faith in us, and we are committed to honouring that trust through dedicated service and development-driven governance,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that public welfare and the state’s progress would continue to remain at the centre of the government’s agenda, and that every effort would be made to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Punjab.
