Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday reiterated his government’s commitment to inclusive development, improved public services and people-centric governance while addressing a large public gathering during the ‘Lok Milni’ programme at the historic village of Chaddik.
Thanking residents for what he described as an overwhelming show of public support and affection, the Chief Minister announced a development grant of ₹51 lakh for the village to accelerate local infrastructure and community welfare projects.
The event also marked another milestone in the state’s healthcare expansion drive, with the Chief Minister dedicating 100 new Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people of Punjab. With the latest addition, the total number of operational Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state has reached 1,090, further strengthening the government’s effort to provide free and accessible primary healthcare closer to people’s homes.
Highlighting the government’s development agenda, Mann said expanding irrigation coverage through canal water remains a priority, adding that nearly 88 per cent of Punjab’s agricultural land is now being served by canal irrigation. He also reiterated the government’s claim that around 90 per cent of households in the state are receiving zero electricity bills under its subsidised power scheme.
The Chief Minister further underlined his government’s emphasis on transparent and merit-based recruitment, saying employment opportunities for the youth are being created without political influence or favouritism. He maintained that ensuring equal opportunities for deserving candidates remains a cornerstone of the state’s governance model.
Addressing the gathering, Mann said the Punjab Government remains committed to the welfare of every section of society and is working towards building a prosperous and vibrant “Rangla Punjab” through sustained investment in healthcare, education, rural development and public welfare.
The Lok Milni programme witnessed a significant public turnout, with the Chief Minister interacting with residents and reaffirming that public participation and people’s trust continue to be the driving force behind the government’s development initiatives.
