The Delhi Police has withdrawn Jantar Mantar’s status as an officially designated venue for protests and demonstrations, naming three alternative locations across the national capital for holding such gatherings, according to an official order.

Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar issued the standing order on October 11, designating Ramlila Maidan, Burari Ground and CBD Ground in east Delhi as the new authorised venues for protests and demonstrations.
The decision comes amid heightened security arrangements in the capital following calls for people to assemble at Jantar Mantar to stage protests. The move signals a change in the designated locations available for public demonstrations as the police seeks to manage gatherings and security requirements.
