Dhuri, Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann interacted with young participants at a regional youth festival held at Desh Bhagat College in village Bardwal, in the Dhuri Assembly constituency, recalling how cultural and stage performances played an important role in his own early journey.
Addressing the gathering, Mann said the enthusiasm and artistic abilities displayed by the students brought back memories of his formative years, when he too began performing on similar platforms. He encouraged young people to treat such festivals as opportunities to develop their confidence, discover their abilities and learn from one another, rather than focusing only on the final results.
The Chief Minister advised winners to remain humble and urged those who did not secure a position to use the experience as motivation to work harder. He emphasised that taking part in competitions itself was a meaningful achievement, as participation helps young people grow through practice, discipline and exposure to new experiences.
Mann also highlighted his government’s employment record, claiming that more than 70,000 government jobs had been provided to young people without recommendations or bribery. He urged students to concentrate on their education and personal effort, assuring them that the Punjab government would continue to support them.
The Chief Minister’s message combined encouragement for cultural participation with an appeal to young people to pursue their ambitions through sustained effort and learning. His visit to the festival also offered a personal connection with the students, as he reflected on how platforms like these had shaped his own beginnings.
