In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Punjab Government on Wednesday issued transfer and posting orders for six IAS officers, bringing key changes to several important departments and districts across the state.
According to the official notification, Vishesh Sarangal, who has been serving as the Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar, has now been appointed as Special Secretary, Good Governance and Information Technology, in addition to the roles of Director, Good Governance and Information Technology and Chief Executive Officer, Punjab State e-Governance Society. He replaces IAS Amit Talwar, who was holding these additional charges.
Sakshi Sawhney, Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Housing and Urban Development for posting as Chief Administrator, GMADA, SAS Nagar, succeeding Vishesh Sarangal.
Following this change, Dalwinderjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur, has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, replacing Sakshi Sawhney.
Similarly, Aditya Uppal, who was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Pathankot and Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Pathankot, has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur, in place of Dalwinderjit Singh.
Taking over Uppal’s previous responsibilities, Palavi, who has been serving as Special Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, and also holding additional charges as HOD, Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Special Secretary, Power, and Special Secretary, New and Renewable Energy Sources, has been transferred as Deputy Commissioner of Pathankot** and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Pathankot.
In another key posting, Harpreet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Fatehgarh Sahib, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, and in addition, HOD, Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, Additional Secretary, Power, and Additional Secretary, New and Renewable Energy Sources, taking charge in place of IAS Palavi.
These transfers mark a major reshuffle in the state bureaucracy, reflecting the government’s focus on strengthening administrative efficiency and improving governance delivery across Punjab.
