
Jagadhri police have arrested four individuals, including a woman, in connection with the murder of Raj Kumar, a 46-year-old mason from Shanti Colony. The accused have been identified as Rahul, his wife Rekha alias Tripti, his brother-in-law Bunty, and his friend Pramod from Gulab Nagar Colony. All four were presented before the court in Jagadhri and have been remanded to judicial custody.
According to Jagadhri SHO Rajpal, the victim, Raj Kumar, worked as a mason, while Rahul, who lived in the same colony, was his co-worker. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when Raj Kumar visited Rahul’s house to collect his daily wages. A heated argument ensued, during which Rahul allegedly struck Raj Kumar on the head with a liquor bottle, killing him on the spot.
Following the murder, Rahul, with assistance from his friend Pramod, transported Raj Kumar’s body to a location near Kharwan village. The duo’s movements, including their use of a motorbike to dispose of the body, were captured on CCTV cameras in the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Rahul’s wife, Rekha alias Tripti, and his brother-in-law Bunty allegedly played a role in destroying crucial evidence at the crime scene.
The police acted swiftly based on the CCTV footage and witness statements, leading to the arrests. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities piecing together further details about the crime.
