Shravan Kumar Garg, Chairman of the Haryana Gau Seva Aayog, recently conducted an inspection of the gaushala near Rakshak Vihar barricade in Jagadhri to assess its management and operations.
During his visit, Garg shared that Haryana has a total of 683 registered gaushalas, including five in Yamunanagar district, all of which receive financial aid from the state government. The grant allocation stands at ₹10 per calf, ₹20 per cow, and ₹25 per bull.
He further highlighted that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has allocated grants for gaushalas covering the period from August 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, as part of a ₹585 crore budget aimed at developing and maintaining cattle shelters across the state. The Jagadhri gaushala near Rakshak Vihar naka has received a grant of ₹23.35 lakh, while two other gaushalas in the district have been awarded ₹7 lakh each.
Garg also emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that no stray cattle are left on the roads. To strengthen gaushalas, the Haryana government has introduced key initiatives, including electricity charges set at just ₹2 per unit and free registration for cattle shelters.
With these measures, the state aims to enhance cattle welfare while promoting better infrastructure and support for gaushalas.
