Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday strongly defended the performance of the BJP-led government, asserting that Haryana has emerged as a leading state on key economic and governance indicators while the government continues to fulfil the commitments made to the people during the Assembly elections. Speaking at a public platform, the Chief Minister underlined that Haryana currently ranks number one in per capita income, reflecting the state’s sustained economic growth and improved standard of living.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP fought the recent Assembly elections on the basis of a clear and accountable vision document, and the government has been working consistently to translate those commitments into concrete outcomes. He stated that unlike opposition parties, the BJP believes in governance through delivery rather than slogans, adding that what is promised to the people is being systematically implemented on the ground.
Referring to the leadership at the national level, Saini said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a strong example of governance based on credibility and performance. He said that under this leadership culture, commitments are not treated as mere political statements but as responsibilities that the government is duty-bound to fulfil. In contrast, he alleged that opposition parties have failed to honour their assurances, leading to a growing trust deficit among the public.
Highlighting the state government’s progress, the Chief Minister said that out of the 217 commitments outlined in the election manifesto, several have already been completed, while work on the remaining pledges is moving forward at a fast pace. He described this as evidence of the government’s seriousness towards accountability and transparent governance. According to him, the focus is on ensuring that policies are not limited to paper announcements but are reflected in visible benefits for citizens across sectors.
Saini also drew attention to the Ladli and women-centric welfare initiatives, stating that a major financial commitment has been made to strengthen social support systems. He said that the state budget has provided an allocation of Rs 5,000 crore for the Lado Laxmi Yojana, describing it as a key step towards empowering women and strengthening family-level financial security. The Chief Minister said that such targeted welfare measures reflect the government’s priority to support vulnerable sections while also promoting inclusive growth.
Responding to criticism from opposition parties, Saini said that attempts to spread misinformation about the government’s performance are baseless and politically motivated. He asserted that the people of Haryana are fully aware of the changes being brought through governance reforms, economic initiatives and welfare schemes. According to him, public confidence is being built not through rhetoric but through measurable improvements in income levels, infrastructure development, employment generation and social welfare delivery.
The Chief Minister said that the government’s approach is rooted in a combination of cultural values and modern governance principles. He added that respecting tradition while focusing on development reflects the broader vision of building a progressive Haryana that is economically strong, socially inclusive and administratively transparent.
Saini concluded by saying that the government will continue to focus on fulfilling every promise made to the people, maintaining that the success of governance will ultimately be judged by outcomes on the ground. He expressed confidence that Haryana’s growth trajectory and policy-driven approach will further strengthen public trust in the BJP-led administration in the months ahead.
