Panjab University has issued orders appointing Dean Prof. Meenakshi Goyal as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution. She will assume the responsibility following the conclusion of the extended tenure of the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig.
The transition marks an important administrative development for one of the country’s premier higher education institutions. Prof. Goyal will oversee the university’s academic and administrative affairs until a regular Vice-Chancellor is appointed in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
University officials said the appointment has been made to ensure continuity in governance and the smooth functioning of the institution after the completion of Prof. Renu Vig’s extended term.
As Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Goyal is expected to lead the university through ongoing academic, research and administrative initiatives while ensuring that day-to-day operations continue without disruption.
