Union Home Minister Urged to Release ₹9,042 Crore Under PDNA

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while addressing the media, revealed that he had discussed several key issues concerning the state with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his recent visit to New Delhi. The Chief Minister urged the prompt release of ₹9,042 crore under the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) for the financial year 2023-24, to which the Union Minister assured necessary action.

The meeting also focused on the issue of drug abuse in Himachal Pradesh, where the Chief Minister informed that drug-related cases had declined by 30% over the past two years. He further highlighted that the state government was introducing a new legislation in the Vidhan Sabha to combat the drug menace more effectively.

Regarding the internal affairs of the Congress party, the Chief Minister mentioned that State Congress in-charge Rajni Patil was in regular contact with party leaders in Himachal Pradesh. He assured that the state party organization’s office bearers would be announced soon after consultation with the party high command.

Addressing another key concern, the Chief Minister stated that he would be speaking to the Union Civil Aviation Minister regarding the recent technical snag at Shimla Airport.
