In a shocking case of domestic violence and suspicion, a 39-year-old cab driver, Chandrashekhar, allegedly strangled his wife to death and later surrendered at the Sampigehalli police station, confessing to the crime, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
Motive: Suspicion and Frequent Arguments
According to the police, Chandrashekhar was highly suspicious of his 35-year-old wife’s activities, particularly her frequent phone conversations. This led to frequent arguments between the couple, with tensions escalating over time.
On Tuesday night, a heated argument broke out once again, during which Chandrashekhar, in a fit of rage, strangled his wife. After realizing what he had done, he walked into the police station and confessed to the murder.
Police Investigation Underway
Following his confession, police rushed to the crime scene and took Chandrashekhar into custody. A senior police officer stated, “The accused suspected his wife of having an affair, which seems to be the primary motive behind the murder. Further investigations are ongoing.”
The case has sparked discussions on domestic violence, trust issues in marriages, and the extreme consequences of unchecked suspicions. Authorities have urged people to seek counseling or legal assistance rather than resorting to violence.
Chandrashekhar has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for murder, and legal proceedings are in progress.
