A Historic Ultra Run: A Tribute to RMS Chail’s Centenary

A historic Ultra Run was successfully concluded at the iconic RMS Chail to mark the commencement of the school’s Centenary celebrations. The 242-kilometer run, which began in Jalandhar, culminated at the world’s highest cricket ground in Chail.

The run was a collaborative effort by the Georgian fraternity, with key contributions from Rajan Raghuwanshi, Brig Harjit Preet Singh, and the dedicated support team of Chail Georgians. The seven ultra-runners, including Guinness World Record holders, showcased exceptional endurance and dedication, covering the challenging terrain with unwavering spirit.

The event was graced by the presence of Lt Gen SN Handa, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), Chairman of the Georgians Association Delhi, who flagged in the runners at RMS Chail. The cadets of the school extended a warm welcome to the runners, lining up along the track to cheer them on.

The Ultra Run was more than just a physical feat; it symbolized the 100-year journey of RMS Chail from its humble beginnings in Jalandhar to its present-day grandeur in Chail. It also fostered camaraderie and a sense of belonging among the Georgian fraternity.

  • Col Krishan Badhwar, SM (Ajmer) – Guinness World Record Holder
  • Commander Sourav Maiti (Bangalore)
  • Sanjay Kumar (Bangalore) – Guinness World Record Holder
  • Ramanjeet Oberoi (Belgaum) – Participant in five international marathons
  • Surjeet, Assistant Commandant (Belgaum)

The support staff, led by Adv Narender Kashyap, played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.

Lt Gen IS Singha, AVSM, VSM, former President of the Georgians Association, along with other distinguished Georgians, including Vipin Pubby, Col Rajan Kadiyan, and the organizing committee headed by Brig Harjit Preet Singh, were instrumental in the successful execution of the event.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony honoring the runners, support staff, and organizing committee members. The Principal of RMS Chail, VK Gangwal, expressed his gratitude to the Chail alumni and the organizers for their efforts.

This historic Ultra Run marks the beginning of a year-long celebration of RMS Chail’s Centenary. The school and the Georgian fraternity are committed to organizing various events and initiatives to commemorate this milestone and honor the rich legacy of the institution.
