AAP Strengthens Position in Amritsar Municipal Corporation with Two Independent Councillors Joining the Party

Amritsar, January 14 (Kumar Soni) – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has further solidified its position in the Amritsar Municipal Corporation with the inclusion of two independent councillors. On Tuesday, Councillors Anita Rani (Ward No. 67) and Usha Rani (Ward No. 63) officially joined AAP during a special ceremony in Amritsar. This development strengthens the party’s presence in the local body and adds to its growing influence in Punjab’s political landscape.
The induction ceremony was attended by Punjab Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who warmly welcomed both councillors into the party fold. He assured them of due respect and responsibility within the party, stating that their inclusion would enhance AAP’s mission of ensuring clean, transparent, and people-centric governance in Punjab. Minister Dhaliwal expressed confidence that the addition of such dedicated public representatives would significantly contribute to serving the citizens better and furthering the party’s goal of bringing about real change at the grassroots level.
Dhaliwal emphasized that AAP’s vision for Punjab revolves around providing effective governance that focuses on the well-being of the people. He highlighted the party’s commitment to transforming the state by promoting accountability and transparency in governance. The new members, Anita Rani and Usha Rani, are expected to play an integral role in this mission, particularly in ensuring that the needs of the public are addressed efficiently.
The ceremony was also attended by several newly-elected councillors and AAP workers, including Councillors Moti Bhatia and Munish Agarwal. The growing strength of AAP in Amritsar’s municipal politics signifies its increasing popularity and ability to attract seasoned leaders with a commitment to public service.
This development is seen as a major boost for AAP as it continues to build its political base in Punjab, particularly at the local level, ahead of future elections. With more councillors joining the party, AAP is positioned to play a more significant role in shaping local governance policies and improving the quality of life for the residents of Amritsar.
