After 16 Days of Struggle, Trapped Workers Finally Brought to Safety
Tunnel Rescue Operation Ends in Triumph as All 41 Trapped Workers Are Saved
After 16 grueling days, the arduous rescue operation to save 41 trapped workers from a collapsed tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Silkyara region culminated in a resounding success on Tuesday evening. The jubilant moment arrived at around 8 pm when the final batch of rescued workers emerged from the tunnel’s mouth, bringing an end to the agonizing wait for their families and loved ones.
The rescue operation, which commenced on November 12 following the collapse of a portion of the under-construction tunnel, faced numerous challenges and setbacks. However, the unwavering determination and resilience of the rescue teams, comprising members of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and other agencies, never wavered.
With unwavering resolve, the rescue personnel meticulously cleared the debris and tunneled through the rubble, inch by inch, to reach the trapped workers. The arduous task was finally rewarded when the breakthrough came at 7.05 pm, paving the way for the safe evacuation of the remaining workers.
