Aman Arora Spearheads Progressive Strategy for Punjab’s Health Skill Development Centres, Unveils State’s Ambitious Skill Training Scheme
In an effort to enhance the effectiveness of Health Skill Development Centres (HSDCs) in Punjab, Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training Minister, Mr. Aman Arora, has instructed department officials to establish a committee. This committee, composed of representatives from Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Punjab Medical Council (PMC), and Punjab Skill Development Mission, will be tasked with tailoring courses in HSDCs to meet the dynamic requirements of the health sector.
Chairing a meeting at Punjab Bhawan, Minister Arora delved into the details of the proposed Skill Training Scheme for the state. Developed under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the scheme is set to not only enhance employability but also provide life and soft skills to students from colleges, ITIs, and polytechnics. Furthermore, it aims to open up relevant job avenues for unemployed candidates seeking placement post skill training.
The meeting covered various aspects of the scheme, including its objectives, launch locations, candidate eligibility, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, beneficiary criteria, and implementation strategies. Attendees included Principal Secretary Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Ms. Jaspreet Talwar, Director Ms. Amrit Singh, Assistant Director ASSOCHAM, Punjab Mr. Anshumali Bajpai, CEO M/s Sun Foundation (Training Partner) Mr. Gurbir Singh, Nudge Fellow from Higher Education department Mr. Kumud Jha, Nudge Fellow from Employment Generation department Mr. Saurabh Saha, and senior officials from Technical Education, Industry, Higher Education, and School Education departments.
