Boosting Healthcare Excellence: Punjab Hospitals Engage in Quality Certification Workshop

A workshop focusing on quality certification for hospitals, conducted by the National Health Authority, Government of India, took place at here in Amritsar. The State Health Agency, Punjab, hosted the event, drawing participation from over 100 hospitals spanning the districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Tarn Taran. The workshop was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Basant Garg, IAS, Additional Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority, Government of India.
The participating hospitals, empaneled with the Ayushman Bharat Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana, Punjab, were provided orientation on the procedures for attaining quality certifications. The primary objective was to inform non-accredited hospitals about the certification process, encouraging them to seek accreditation. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of services and standards within hospitals, benefiting both healthcare providers and patients by ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services.
Throughout the workshop, various expert speakers from the National Health Authority and Quality Council of India conducted sessions on quality certifications. They also addressed queries raised by the participating hospitals, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the certification process.
The workshop was especially attended by Ms. Latha Ganapathy, IAS, Director, National Health Authority, accompanied by Mrs. Babita, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the State Health Agency, Punjab. In attendance were officials from the National Health Authority, State Health Agency, Punjab, as well as district health officials from Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Tarn Taran. The workshop provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of quality healthcare services
