Celebrating Sustainable Power: Narendra Modi Inaugurates Seven SJVN Projects Worth 5515 Crores

In a momentous occasion for SJVN, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually dedicated four power stations, including the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station in Uttarakhand, and laid the foundation stone for three other projects, showcasing an investment of 5515 crores. #SJVNProjects #NarendraModi #RenewableEnergy

The dedication ceremony, held in Adilabad, Telangana, marked the inauguration of the 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Station, and the 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for SJVN’s ventures: the 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project, the 15 MW Nangal Floating Solar Power Project in Himachal Pradesh, and a 70 MW Solar Project in Assam. These endeavors underscore India’s commitment towards achieving a net zero carbon emission economy by 2070.

Accompanied by dignitaries including Governor of Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister of Telangana Shri A. Revanth Reddy, and Union Minister of Culture, Tourism & Development of North Eastern Region, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, the ceremony showcased a landmark step towards sustainable development.

In the presence of SJVN’s leadership represented by Chairman & Managing Director, Smt. Geeta Kapur, and Director (Finance), Shri Akhileshwar Singh, the event symbolized a collective commitment towards a greener future.

Expressing gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, Smt. Geeta Kapur reiterated SJVN’s dedication towards realizing the ambitious goal of achieving 500 GW installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030. She also extended appreciation to the Union Minister of Power & New & Renewable Energy, Shri R.K Singh, and respective state governments for entrusting SJVN with the execution of these pivotal power projects.

The seven projects, collectively boasting a capacity of 727 MW, hold the promise of generating 2255 million units of energy annually while significantly reducing carbon emissions by 20,10,941 tonnes per year. This monumental step underscores SJVN’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and its relentless pursuit of a cleaner, greener future.

SJVN, a stalwart in the power sector as a CPSE, has diversified its portfolio across various energy sources including Hydro, Thermal, Wind, Solar, Power Trading, and Power Transmission. With a steadfast commitment towards achieving the Shared Vision of 25000 MW by 2030 and 50000 MW installed capacity by 2040, SJVN continues to lead the charge towards a sustainable and energy-efficient future for India.
