In a significant development for Chandigarh’s environmental future, Ms. Caroline Rowett, British Deputy High Commissioner, met Sh. Rajeev Verma, Adviser to Administrator, UT Chandigarh Administration, to discuss crucial topics like Climate Change, Green Energy, and Sustainable Mobility. Building on last year’s collaborative workshop on Low Emission Zones (LEZ) – areas with restricted access for polluting vehicles – this meeting paves the way for knowledge sharing agreements. By empowering Chandigarh officials with best practices, the aim is to implement successful LEZs and promote sustainable transport solutions. This aligns perfectly with India’s Net Zero ambitions and will significantly reduce air pollution in the city.
