Chandigarh Angels Network Hosts Meet & Greet to Support Startups in the Region

Chandigarh Angels Network (CAN) hosted a Meet & Greet event on November 4th, 2023, in collaboration with the Chandigarh Administration. The event brought together government officials, CAN’s portfolio startups from all over India, angel investors, selected startups, and heads of startup communities/organizations/partner networks & funds from the region.

The event began with a welcome note and an introduction to CAN’s work in investments and community building. The Chief Guest, Ms. Hargunjit Kaur, Secretary Industries, Chandigarh Administration, shared the administration’s interest in supporting startups in the Chandigarh region.

CAN announced its investment in JaggerCane, a local startup that sells jaggery-based products. The startup’s goal is to replace white sugar with jaggery in everyday meals and snacks. CAN also announced its initiative to partner with other networks and funds to co-invest in startups from the region.

Three startups from different industries and geographies pitched to CAN for investment. Additionally, a panel discussion on cash flow management for SMEs and startups was held, with speakers from Finofii, SBI Mutual Fund, and Harvesting Farmers Network.

The event also showcased some local emerging startups, including Ride Smart (Tricity’s first app-based fully electric cab service), Heliware (AI Powered 3D Geospatial Insight Platform), Jagger Cane (Brand of Jaggery based tasty and hygienic products), and paymart (digitizing rural India).
