Chandigarh Celebrates “Har Ghar Tiranga” with Nukkad Nataks, Art & Community Events

In line with the nationwide “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign (August 2nd – 15th, 2024), the Chandigarh Administration is gearing up for a grand celebration. A comprehensive strategy was developed under the leadership of Sh. Rajeev Verma, Advisor to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh, involving various departments and institutions. The campaign aims to engage all sectors of society in a patriotic initiative.

Residents can expect exciting events like Nukkad Nataks (street plays) at prominent locations, where the public will be administered the Tiranga Pledge. A special theme-based event will be held at Tagore Theatre, while a unique painting workshop featuring 77 artists will showcase artistic expression. To foster community spirit, weekend theme-based events are planned, along with special programs for residents of old-age homes.

A giant Tiranga canvas will be set up for residents to write messages of patriotism like “Har Ghar Tiranga” or “Jai Hind” in local languages. The design template for the messages can be downloaded from the official website (www.harghartiranga.com). The Chandigarh Administration encourages everyone to actively participate and make this a memorable celebration of India’s unity and heritage.

This nationwide campaign, driven by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, encourages citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes and upload selfies with the flag on the website. The Chandigarh Administration, led by Sh. Rajeev Verma, Sh. Surender Singh Yadav DGP, Ms. Anindita Mitra, Sh. Ajay Chagti, Sh.Vinay Pratap Singh, Sh.Hari Kallikkat, and other officials, appeals to all residents to join hands and celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage and unity.
