Chandigarh, February 11: Haryana Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal said that the present government is working for the welfare of the poor, youth, women and farmers, rising above caste politics. He said that only with their welfare, the country will become a developed nation.

The Chief Minister was addressing intellectuals at Jain Bhawan, Sector 15, Panchkula today. Haryana Assembly Speaker Shri Gian Chand Gupta was also present on the occasion.

Earlier, the Chief Minister offered prayers at Kalyani Mata Mandir, Sector 15, Panchkula and cleaned the main gate of the temple, sending a message of keeping religious places clean.

We believe in democratic values: Chief Minister

Shri Manohar Lal said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the largest democratic party not only in the country but also in the world. There are many political parties in the country but if there is any party that runs in a democratic way, it is the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that we have unwavering faith in democratic values, the state government is working in the public interest of every citizen.

Haryana is the first state in the country to start the Parivar Pehchan Patra program

Shri Manohar Lal said that the present Haryana government is an experimental government and many new experiments have been done to improve the welfare of the people and make their lives easier. While making changes in the systems at the beginning, some challenges have to be faced.

Referring to the Parivar Pehchan Patra program, Shri Manohar Lal said that initially this program had to face opposition from the opposition but today the Parivar Pehchan Patra program is being praised everywhere. Haryana is probably the first state in the country to start this unique program. Today, other states are also following it after being impressed by the Parivar Pehchan Patra program. Taking a dig at the opposition, the Chief Minister said that the opposition parties say that this government is a portal government. Shri Manohar Lal said that he is confident that the people of the state who have got the benefits of various schemes sitting at home through the portal, the same people will end the political future of such parties.

Interacting directly with the people, Shri Manohar Lal said that lakhs of people have benefited from many welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Old Age Samman Allowance. These schemes have benefited the poor the most. He said that we all have to worry about the poor, for this other institutions will have to come forward along with the government. Before the program, the Chief Minister also met the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of the Central and State Governments under the public contact campaign.

The Chief Minister said that there is an atmosphere of excitement all over the country with the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Mahatma Gandhi had said that there should be Ram Raj in the country. Today, every child in the country is saying that the foundation of Ram Raj has been laid in India.

Awarding Bharat Ratna to five personalities together is a commendable step

Earlier, in response to a question asked by journalists about the conferment of Bharat Ratna on former Deputy Prime Minister Shri Lal Krishna Advani, Shri Manohar Lal said that Shri Lal Krishna Advani is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party who played a key role in building the party. He said that it is a matter of happiness that five Bharat Ratnas have been awarded in the last two months itself and for this he expresses his gratitude to President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He said that along with Advani ji, other great personalities like Shri Karpoori Thakur ji, Shri Narasimha Rao ji, Chaudhary Charan Singh ji and Dr. Swaminathan ji have also been decided to be honored with Bharat Ratna keeping in mind their contribution. It is a commendable step to award Bharat Ratna to so many dignitaries together.

On the occasion, Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, Deputy Commissioner Shri Sushil Sarwan, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sumer Pratap Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Harish Vashisht and Municipal Commissioner Sachin Gupta were also present.
