Chief Minister Sukhu Unveils Major Development Initiatives in Dharamshala

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced significant development initiatives during a public gathering at Dari Mela Ground in Dharamshala, Kangra district. He revealed plans for the construction of the country’s largest International Convention Center near Tapovan, with an investment of ₹150 crore, aimed at hosting major seminars, boosting tourism, and creating local employment opportunities.Additionally, Sukhu confirmed the operationalization of the Primary Health Centre in Yol Cantt and allocated funds for various infrastructure projects, including a bridge in the IT Park and several road constructions connecting key locations. He emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and anti-corruption measures, contrasting his administration’s efforts with alleged corrupt practices during the previous BJP government.Sukhu highlighted the reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for 1.36 lakh government employees as a fulfillment of election promises. He criticized the Central Government for not releasing funds for disaster relief in Himachal Pradesh and accused local BJP leaders of politicizing disaster situations instead of supporting affected families.In terms of healthcare improvements, he announced that PET scan machines would soon be available at IGMC Shimla and Tanda Medical College. The Chief Minister also mentioned ongoing subsidies for water and electricity for those in need while encouraging well-off families to voluntarily surrender these benefits.Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar spoke about initiatives to revitalize agriculture, urging a return to farming and integration with livestock management. Congress leader Devender Jaggi criticized the local MLA for neglecting public concerns.The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board Bhawani Singh Pathania and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, among others.
