Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Commends Indian Soldiers at Attari-Wagah Border

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu attended the captivating ‘Beating the Retreat Ceremony’ at the Attari-Wagah Border, a border crossing between Pakistan and India in Amritsar. This daily military practice, symbolizing the harmony and cooperation between the security forces of India (Border Security Force, BSF) and Pakistan (Pakistan Rangers), has been a tradition since 1959.
Amidst thunderous applause from the gathered crowd, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu distributed sweets to the valiant Jawans who participated in the ceremony. He commended their unwavering commitment, bravery, and the splendid performance they displayed.
The Chief Minister took a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the Indian Army and paramilitary forces in safeguarding the nation’s integrity and sovereignty. He emphasized the pride that all citizens feel for their soldiers, who have selflessly protected the country in its times of need.
Dr. Atul Fulzale, Inspector General of the Jalandhar range in BSF and an officer from the Himachal Pradesh IPS cadre, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Minister and presented him with a sapling as a gesture of honor.
The event saw the presence of Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh, Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Bharat Khera, and senior officers from Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir.
