Church of North India Celebrates 54 Years of Unity, Service, and Stewardship
Amritsar, November 30 – ( Rahul Soni ) The Church of North India (CNI) joyously celebrated its 54th Foundation Day, honoring over five decades of unity, witness, and service since its establishment in 1970. This historic milestone marks the unification of six Protestant denominations into one harmonious body dedicated to serving society and fostering goodwill.
Special prayer services were held across all CNI churches in the evening, bringing together congregations in a shared spirit of gratitude and reflection. The celebrations reaffirmed the Church’s unwavering commitment to addressing societal challenges, championing human rights, and advocating for environmental stewardship.
Speaking on the occasion, The Most Rev. Dr. P. K. Samantaroy, Bishop of the Diocese of Amritsar, emphasized the Church’s role in protecting God’s creation. “As stewards of God’s creation, we pledge to protect the environment, promote justice, and support the marginalized. We urge everyone to reduce plastic usage and contribute to a cleaner, greener planet.”
