Common people will be able to complain about violation of model code of conduct through C-Vigil mobile app.

Chandigarh, March 20 – Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana, Mr. Anurag Aggarwal said that in view of the Lok Sabha general elections 2024, now the common man will also play an important role for the Commission in following the Model Code of Conduct. Citizens will have to be alert and participate in the elections. For this, the Election Commission has developed C-Vigil mobile app. Through the CVigil mobile app, the general public has been given a power similar to that of an election observer, on which they can lodge a complaint regarding violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Citizens can also send photos, videos and audios from their mobile phones on C-Vigil app. Action will be taken on the related complaint within 100 minutes.

He said that citizens will act as an important link for the Commission and can cooperate in making it fair, clean and transparent. He said that citizens can download this application from Google Play Store for Android phones and from App Store for iPhones. People can take photos or record a two-minute video and upload it on this app. That photo and video will be uploaded to the app along with the GPS location. The complaint will be resolved within 100 minutes of filing the complaint. Apart from this, related complaints can also be lodged on the National Grievance Redressal System portal. He said that flying squads and static surveillance teams have live information on the C-Vigil app and the nearest teams will immediately reach the place where the complaint is received.
