These initiatives underscore the government’s focus on enhancing connectivity, bolstering disaster resilience, and improving rural infrastructure.
In his address, Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the government’s dedication to uniform statewide development and expressed confidence that these projects will be a “milestone for Kullu district.” He also highlighted the economic strides made in the past year, attributing a 20% improvement to prudent financial management.
Furthermore, acknowledging the challenges faced in 2023 due to natural disasters, Sukhu commended the swift response and support provided to affected families. He mentioned the Rs. 4,500 crore special package, significantly increased compensation for damaged houses, and efficient evacuation efforts as testaments to the government’s proactive approach.
Despite the temporary setback in tourism caused by the disasters, Sukhu assured that popular destinations like Shimla, Manali, and Dharamshala are witnessing a resurgence. He emphasized the state’s commitment to facilitating tourist experiences and addressed rumors of traffic congestion as “baseless.”
Outlining the vision for the future, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s goal of making Himachal Pradesh a self-reliant state. He lauded the remarkable improvement in the state’s economy despite significant debt and liabilities, attributing it to responsible fiscal management. With a focus on achieving self-reliance in four years and becoming the country’s most prosperous state within a decade, the government is implementing key initiatives like the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Ashraya Yojna and Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgar Start Up Yojna phase II to empower residents and boost economic growth.
Recognizing the importance of education, particularly for underprivileged children, Chief Minister Sukhu announced the launch of a new scheme to provide Divyang children with access to high-quality education and sports training. This integrated world-class institution will cater to their needs from basic schooling to college-level education, equipping them with skills to excel in Paralympics and other sports competitions.
With the inauguration of these transformative projects and the commitment to future development, Kullu district is poised for a bright future. As infrastructure improves, disaster resilience strengthens, and tourism flourishes, the valley’s residents and visitors alike can look forward to a new era of prosperity and well-being.
