CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Addresses Disaster-Affected Families, Provides Land-Papers, and Welcomes Tourists to Himachal”

In a two-day tour of district Hamirpur, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu personally visited disaster-affected families within the Badsar Assembly segment. He interacted with them, offering reassurances of government support during these trying times. CM Sukhu toured the areas of Jabbal Kheriyan, Guru-da-Ban, Bhebad, Samtana Khurd, and Lahari Salan to assess the extensive damages caused by heavy monsoon rains.
During the visit, the Chief Minister handed over revenue papers for land measuring six marlas each to three families in Guru-da-Ban. These families had lost their land and homes due to the disaster, and their houses were declared unsafe. CM Sukhu also directed the district administration to expedite the process of providing land to other affected families. He emphasized that the State Government was committed to offering land assistance to those severely affected by the calamity.
Addressing the media, CM Sukhu assured tourists that Himachal Pradesh was now safe for visits. All major roads leading to popular destinations like Shimla, Dalhousie, Kasauli, Dharamshala, and Macleodganj were open and safe for travel. Despite the recent disruptions caused by heavy monsoon rains, the State Government had worked diligently to restore roads, ensuring tourists could explore Himachal’s natural beauty. Additionally, plans were underway to recruit 1200 police personnel who would not only combat drug-related issues but also serve as tourism police. The government was also considering changes to recruitment rules within the police department.
Regarding the ‘Rajya Chayan Ayog’ issue, the Chief Minister announced that the Ayog would be established in Hamirpur, utilizing an existing complex. Furthermore, the State Government had temporarily banned mining activities in the river basins of Beas, its tributaries, and other rivers until September 15th, addressing environmental concerns.
CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s visit to the disaster-affected families and his efforts to expedite land assistance underscored the government’s commitment to helping those in distress, while also promoting tourism in the region.
