Congress Releases First List of 39 Candidates for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
Rahul Gandhi has been nominated for the Lok Sabha seat from Wayanad in the 2024 elections.
Congress has released its first list of 39 candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Friday. Former party president Rahul Gandhi has been given a ticket from Wayanad, while the organization’s general secretary, C Venugopal, has been given one from Alappuzha. Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, has been nominated from Rajnandgaon. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, Party Treasurer Ajay Maken, and Communication Department Chief Pawan Khera stated that the party would start its work related to the Lok Sabha elections swiftly within the next two to three weeks.
Khera mentioned that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra (Connect India Justice Journey) would conclude on March 17, followed by a large rally inviting leaders from the India United Front. After that, the party will fully immerse itself in the Lok Sabha election campaign. He further stated that the party has paid full attention to caste equations in the first list, ensuring it’s a well-balanced one. The next meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee will be held on March 11, where candidates from states including Uttar Pradesh will be discussed.
The list includes a significant number of candidates from Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh. The Congress candidate list is as follows:
