Dengue & Chikungunya Preventive Measures
Due to frequent rainfalls encountered in the region over last few days, the unused containers and junk material lying in open have become potent mosquitogenic sources. Dengue & Chikungunya are caused by Aedes mosquito which requires stagnant water to lay eggs. Hence we should not create any mosquitogenic situation in our city conducive for Aedes breeding. All the residents of Chandigarh are further advised to follow the preventive measures given below to protect themselves from vector borne diseases like Dengue & Chikungunya.
DO’S and DON’TS

Birds/animal feeding pots are potential sources for breeding of Aedes mosquito which causes dengue. They must be cleaned with a scrub and water must be changed every week.
