Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced the launch of a large-scale recruitment drive in the Education Department under the Human Resource Extension to provide standard education to students in government schools across the state.

Addressing a public meeting before felicitating 80 teachers during a state-level function here on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the Chief Minister said that a large number of posts are lying vacant in the education department, due to which the education of children is being affected. He said that under the commitment of the state government to make Punjab a leading state in the field of education, the Punjab government has decided to conduct a large-scale recruitment drive in the education department. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that a large number of posts including campus managers, cleaning staff, janitors and security guards will be filled in the coming days.

The Chief Minister said that the new era of education revolution will be laid by the Punjab government by starting School of Eminence in the state soon. He said that 68 crore rupees have been released for the establishment of these schools and the first school of eminence will be dedicated to the people on September 13. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these ultra-modern schools will act as a catalyst to provide quality education to the students.

The Chief Minister said that 10,000 classrooms of schools across Punjab will be given a new look to modernize the schools in the state. He said that new type of furniture will be provided in these classrooms, so that the teachers can monitor the performance of every student carefully. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that apart from this, one thousand new classrooms are being constructed in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is giving utmost attention to improving the education system in Punjab. He said that the state government is sending groups of school principals and teachers for training in renowned educational institutions of the country and abroad so that they can learn modern teaching techniques. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the purpose of this is to ensure that the teachers can be aware of the modern practices going on in the world in the field of education.
The Chief Minister said that similarly, they are being sent to ISRO and other institutions to inculcate scientific approach in the students of government schools. He said that this will enable students of government schools to compete with their peers studying in convent schools. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the aim of this step is to make the students fully developed and able to work hard in life.

The Chief Minister said that for the first time in the history of Punjab, parent-teacher meetings were held in government schools across the state. He said that more than 19 lakh parents participated in this comprehensive parent-teacher meet. Bhagwant Singh Mann hoped that this initiative would help in preparing the students for the future.
Revealing the emotional evening with the teachers, the Chief Minister said that every teacher’s problem will be solved, for which the state government is already making all possible efforts. Promising to solve all the problems faced by the teachers, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that being the son of a teacher, he knows the problems of the teachers very well. He said that the treasury of the state is for the people and every penny will be spent for the welfare of the people.

The Chief Minister said that last year on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, he had promised to regularize the services of all contract teachers. The Chief Minister said that he was very happy and satisfied to announce that the word “Kachch” will be removed from the front of the employees forever and now the state government has cleared all legal and administrative hurdles and regularized the services of 12,710 “Kachch” teachers. . Bhagwant Singh Mann said that besides regularizing the services of the teachers, their salary will be increased by five percent and other benefits including holidays will also be obtained.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is opening eight high-class training centers to prepare students for competitive examinations. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this center provides UPSC to the youth. He will train to pass the exam and he will serve in prestigious positions in the state and country. He said that the aim of the state government is to make its youth eligible to serve in high positions.

The Chief Minister further said that bus service will be started for girl students studying in government schools. He said that the objective of this scheme is to ensure that no girl is deprived of education. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this step will also ensure the safety of girls in government schools, so that these girls can shine the name of the state in the field of education.
To end the unfortunate trend of Patwaris hiring private persons for their work, the Chief Minister said that biometric attendance will be mandatory for Patwaris. He said that with this step it will be ensured that the Patwaris perform their duties effectively, so that the people will not face any problem.

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed to provide clean, effective, accountable and transparent administration to the people and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause.
