Farmer Dies in Clash with Police at Haryana Border During Protest

Tragedy struck the ongoing farmers’ protest in Haryana as a young farmer, Shubh Karan Singh, lost his life during a clash with the police at the Khanauri border. The 23-year-old resident of Bathinda allegedly succumbed to a bullet wound sustained during the confrontation.

According to the All-India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), the death occurred amidst police action against the protesting farmers. This incident has led to a temporary suspension of the farmers’ march towards Delhi, although the sit-in protest at the border will continue.

Details regarding the circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear. While a doctor at a Patiala hospital confirmed receiving three patients from Khanauri, one of whom was already deceased upon arrival, the cause of death awaits official confirmation through a post-mortem examination. The other two individuals reportedly sustained bullet injuries but are said to be in stable condition.

This unfortunate incident highlights the escalating tensions between the protesting farmers and the authorities in Haryana. The loss of life raises serious concerns about the use of force and the need for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
