Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini Discusses State Development and Key Initiatives in Meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini recently met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss a range of development projects aimed at fast-tracking the state’s progress. Following their meeting, Chief Minister Saini highlighted the government’s commitment to a “double-engine” growth model, with the Centre and Haryana working closely to deliver rapid and continuous development under the motto “Nonstop Haryana – Growing Haryana.”

Chief Minister Saini shared with media that Prime Minister Modi emphasized the need to accelerate Haryana’s development to simplify and improve the lives of its people. Saini also recently met with Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, during which several new projects were approved. Among these are the expansion of the Metro Rail and Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in Gurugram, and the extension of the RRTS project from Sarai Kale Khan to Karnal, which will ease travel for residents and reduce congestion across key routes in Haryana.

The Chief Minister praised the Modi government for its work over the last decade in empowering women, noting the historic impact of the “Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao” campaign, which originated in Panipat, Haryana. He also celebrated the passing of the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill, introduced by Prime Minister Modi to elevate women’s representation and involvement in state legislative assemblies, further ensuring they contribute significantly to the country’s development. This bill, according to Saini, is a profound milestone that allows women to pursue new opportunities for empowerment. Furthermore, initiatives like the “Drone Didi” program have been implemented to empower women’s self-help groups, providing skill development and greater economic opportunities.

During the discussion, Chief Minister Saini addressed the current paddy procurement season, stating that he has instructed officials to ensure every grain of paddy with up to 17 percent moisture content is purchased from farmers. Strict actions will be taken if any complaints arise, demonstrating the government’s commitment to the welfare of local farmers.

The Chief Minister also spoke about the International Gita Mahotsav, an annual celebration held in the sacred city of Kurukshetra, where Lord Krishna is believed to have delivered his teachings in the Bhagavad Gita. He noted that this festival attracts thousands from Haryana, other parts of India, and even internationally. Each year, prominent dignitaries, including Union Ministers, attend this grand celebration, enhancing its importance and outreach.

Discussing the membership drive of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Saini shared that BJP President J.P. Nadda has set membership targets for Haryana. Under this campaign, each MLA has a target of 20,000 new members, and each MP is to add 30,000 members, with all party members actively contributing to this initiative to strengthen BJP’s presence in Haryana.

Responding to political inquiries, Chief Minister Saini addressed the Congress party’s internal conflicts, noting that Congress has yet to appoint a Leader of Opposition. He stated that this lack of leadership reflects deeper issues within the Congress, citing the party’s attempts to spread misinformation against initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Despite opposition criticism, Ayushman Bharat has provided healthcare benefits across all sections of society, without discrimination.

In his closing remarks, Saini emphasized that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the government remains committed to growth and development in Haryana, empowering its citizens and making significant strides in public welfare.
