Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar Announces Property ID-Based Registries, Leads Tributes and Resolutions in Assembly Session

Haryana Government to Implement Property ID-Based Registrations
The Haryana government is working towards making registry based on property ID. In the first phase, Sonipat and Karnal districts have been taken. This was announced by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while replying to a question during the Question Hour on the second day of the budget session of the Haryana Assembly.
The Chief Minister said that earlier there was a provision of three categories in the revenue record – urban area, rural area and other area. The property record in the urban area was maintained by the local body and in the rural area by the concerned department. However, the provision of other area created a loophole. Due to this provision of other area, some people used to get the registries done in some way or the other. But the present state government has now abolished this provision of other area, so some people are facing problems.
He said that property ID is only the identification of the property, but not the proof of ownership. Under the ongoing large scale mapping project in the state, mapping is being done in the urban areas and after verification with the revenue record, this data will become authentic. After that, there will be no need for intkal and the registries will be done on the basis of property ID only.
