Nuh, Haryana – August 1, 2023: Clashes between a group of young men and a religious procession organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) erupted in Nuh district on Monday, leading to six deaths and over 20 injured police personnel.

  • Violence: The incident occurred during the VHP’s “Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra” when it was stopped near Khedla Mod in Nuh. Stones were pelted at the procession, leading to clashes.
  • Casualties: Six individuals, including two police homeguards, were killed. Over 88 people sustained injuries.
  • Arrests and Investigations: 176 people have been arrested and 93 FIRs registered in connection with the violence. The investigation is ongoing.
