Haryana Government Approves Major Infrastructural and Welfare Projects Worth Over Rs 1970 Crore

In a significant development aimed at bolstering infrastructure and welfare initiatives, the Haryana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, convened a crucial meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC). The meeting approved contracts and purchases exceeding Rs 1970 crore, marking a pivotal step towards enhancing public services and developmental projects across the state. Notably, insurance companies have been selected for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) from Kharif 2024 to Rabi 2025-26, with an approximate premium outlay of Rs 1100 crore, significantly subsidizing premiums for farmers. This move underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding agricultural interests and mitigating losses due to natural disasters. Additionally, the meeting greenlit the procurement of 650 new buses for Haryana Roadways, amounting to more than Rs 290 crore, aimed at enhancing public transport infrastructure and accessibility. Through rigorous negotiations, savings exceeding Rs 132 crore were achieved, reflecting prudent financial management and accountability in public expenditure. The approvals encompass diverse sectors including transportation, agriculture, and public safety, with allocations for initiatives such as the purchase of women body protectors and specialized equipment for law enforcement agencies, totaling approximately Rs 14 crore. Furthermore, the meeting sanctioned several key infrastructure projects including the construction of stormwater drainage systems in Gurugram and developmental complexes in Faridabad and Karnal districts, collectively amounting to substantial investments in urban infrastructure and civic amenities. The decisions taken in this session, attended by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials, underscore the government’s proactive stance in addressing public needs and fostering sustainable growth across Haryana. This comprehensive approach towards governance not only aims at infrastructural development but also emphasizes welfare-oriented policies, aligning with the state’s vision for inclusive progress and economic resilience.
