Haryana mayhem: 6 dead, 116 arrested, says CM Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar addressed the recent communal violence in the state, revealing that six people, including two home guards, lost their lives during the clashes. He assured the public that the situation is now under control, with stray incidents of violence being curtailed. The injured have been taken to various hospitals, and 116 individuals have been arrested, while efforts to apprehend other suspects are underway.

Out of the six reported fatalities, two were home guards and four were civilians. The government is actively identifying the conspirators behind the violence and promised to take strict action against those responsible. Khattar emphasized that the security of the common people is their prime responsibility.

To maintain peace and restore order, 20 companies of central security forces have been deployed in Haryana. Their distribution includes three in Palwal, two in Gurugram, one in Faridabad, and 14 in Nuh. The Chief Minister appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities.

Khattar previously referred to the Nuh violence as “unfortunate” and stated that it was a well-planned attack on a VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad) procession, hinting at a larger conspiracy. Home Minister Vij also asserted that the violence in Nuh was engineered to disrupt the peace in Haryana, leading to the imposition of a curfew in the district.

As the authorities investigate the incident further, the state government is determined to take decisive action against the culprits and maintain harmony within the region.
