Haryana Police Commitment to Excellence and Public Service: Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s Address at Passing Out Parade

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini lauded the patience and dedication of Haryana Police personnel, who continue to perform their duties under challenging circumstances. Highlighting the government’s commitment to making Haryana Police the leading police force in the country, Saini emphasized the implementation of the Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP) for transparent and merit-based recruitment. Addressing the gathering at the Police Training College in Sunariya, Rohtak district, during the passing out parade of 1,265 soldiers from 18 companies, Saini stressed the importance of police personnel embodying the spirit of social service alongside their duty to serve the country. The Chief Minister congratulated the newly trained soldiers and their parents, urging the jawans to perform their duties with dedication to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the police force. He noted that the government is ensuring the safety of every individual’s life and property, and with the new recruits, the strength of Haryana Police will be bolstered significantly.

Saini mentioned that 765 jawans were trained at the Sunariya Police Academy, and 500 at the Police Academy in Madhuban. He called upon the police personnel to embrace their role with a service-oriented mindset and social responsibility. Over the past decade, the government has provided employment to over 132,000 youth based on merit without incurring any expenses. He affirmed that Haryana Police is taking stringent actions against criminals and drug traffickers, with significant efforts to curb drug abuse through the establishment of the Inter-State Drugs Secretariat and the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau. The government is also focused on recruiting national and international level athletes to enhance the performance of the police force, with 601 of the 1,265 new recruits being athletes. Modern techniques are being employed to prevent crimes, and Haryana Police received the President’s Colour Award in February 2023, a testament to their excellence.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the introduction of helpline service 1930 to tackle cybercrime, ensuring prompt police assistance within 7 minutes and 5 seconds of receiving a call on dial 112, which has handled over 30 lakh calls with a 93% satisfaction rate. The dial 112 service is also available on WhatsApp, enhancing accessibility in times of crisis. To combat cybercrime, the government has established the Haryana State Cyber Crime Coordination Center and cyber police stations in every district, with the country’s first training center for cybercrime challenges set up in Gurugram. Haryana Police has received accolades for passport verification and initiatives like increased daily allowances for police personnel, weekly rest for every policeman, and the establishment of 22 public schools for the education of police personnel’s children.

Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapoor acknowledged the Chief Minister’s support and detailed the formation of a Special Task Force to handle serious crimes, increased ex-gratia benefits for martyrs’ families, and government jobs and financial assistance for dependents. He mentioned the initiatives for the free health checkup of policemen above 35 years of age, increased ration and uniform allowances, and the introduction of a mobile allowance. Kapoor emphasized the establishment of 33 Mahila Thanas to ensure a safe and fear-free environment for women, alongside trip monitoring services for women traveling alone, and the integration of cyber helpline 1930 with emergency service dial 112.

The passing out parade ceremony honored three soldiers for their outstanding performance: Sepoy Narvindra Singh received the first prize, Sepoy Vakil Kumar the second prize, and Sepoy Jagbir Singh the third prize, with Chief Minister Saini presenting first-class appreciation letters and cash prizes. The event was attended by notable officials including Additional Director General of Police Rohtak Range and PTC Sunariya K.K.
