Heavy Rainfall and Snowfall Alert Issued in Himachal Pradesh

The Shimla-based weather center has issued an Orange Alert for heavy rainfall and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. The state is bracing for another spell of heavy rainfall and snowfall as per the latest weather bulletin. However, Thursday saw sunny days across the state.

According to the afternoon bulletin released by the Shimla weather center, a western disturbance is approaching Himachal Pradesh. The impact of this western disturbance will begin on February 17, with a Yellow Alert in place. Subsequently, from February 18 to 20, an Orange Alert has been issued for heavy rainfall, storms, snowfall, and hailstorms. On February 21, a Yellow Alert will remain in effect. This means adverse weather conditions are expected to persist in Himachal Pradesh for five days. The weather department has advised the government to stay prepared due to the alert.
