Himachal CM Sukhu Condoles Prof. Simmi Agnihotri’s Passing; Hails Social Work, Vows Support for Family
Deeply saddened by the news of Professor Simmi Agnihotri’s passing, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu extended his heartfelt condolences to Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and their daughter Aastha. Paying his respects in person at their residence in Gondpur Jaichand, Una district, the Chief Minister participated in the funeral procession and witnessed the cremation ceremony.
Highlighting their longstanding acquaintance since university days, the Chief Minister described Professor Agnihotri as a highly educated woman deeply committed to social causes. He acknowledged the unexpected nature of her passing and the profound grief it has caused, stating, “The sudden demise of Simmi Agnihotri is deeply saddening, leaving an irreplaceable void in the family.”
Offering his support and prayers to the bereaved family, the Chief Minister said, “Life’s unpredictability has placed a heavy burden on Mukesh Agnihotri and their daughter. May they find strength and solace in each other during this challenging time. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to them.”
The solemn occasion saw the presence of several prominent figures, including the Speaker of the HP Vidhan Sabha, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, several ministers, MLAs, political advisors, and other dignitaries.
