Himachal Pradesh Approves Major Industrial Projects to Boost Investment and Employment

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently presided over the 29th meeting of the State Single Window Clearance & Monitoring Authority (SSWC&MA), where significant strides were made in bolstering industrial development in Himachal Pradesh. During this meeting, the authority approved 25 project proposals aimed at establishing new industrial enterprises and expanding existing units, which are expected to attract a staggering investment of approximately Rs. 2216.93 crore. This investment is projected to create around 5027 job opportunities, thereby contributing to the economic growth and employment landscape of the state.

Among the newly approved projects, notable proposals include M/s Pure and Cure Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. in Baddi, which will focus on manufacturing tablets and capsules, and M/s Exotic Fruits in Kumarsain, set to develop integrated cold atmospheric storage and juice concentrate processing facilities. Other significant approvals encompass M/s Potent Biotech Ltd., which will manufacture liquid vial lyophilizers and ampoule lines, and M/s Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation Ltd. in Theog, dedicated to producing apple juice concentrate, vinegar, wine, and pectin. The meeting also saw approvals for M/s VKM Liquor LLP for malt spirit production and M/s Smilax Health Care Private Limited for the manufacturing of healthcare products like tablets and capsules.

In addition to new projects, several expansion proposals were greenlit, including M/s Ambuja Cements Ltd. for clinker and cement manufacturing, and M/s Ruchira Papers Limited for writing and printing paper production. Other expansions include M/s Iosis Remedies Pvt. Ltd., which will enhance its capacity for tablets, capsules, and liquid bottles, and M/s Auro Textiles focusing on processed and greige fabrics. Noteworthy expansions also involve M/s Thermosol Glass India for toughened and insulated glass manufacturing and M/s Oxalis Labs for pharmaceutical products.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan and Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, who underscored the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for industrial growth. The approval of these projects reflects a strategic move to enhance the state’s industrial infrastructure, attract investments, and generate employment, thereby reinforcing Himachal Pradesh’s position as a burgeoning hub for various industries.

This comprehensive initiative not only signifies a robust investment influx but also demonstrates the government’s proactive approach to economic development, aiming to improve the livelihood of its citizens through job creation and industrial expansion.
