Himachal Pradesh Assembly Session Heats Up: Opposition Targets Congress on Unfulfilled Promises

Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh: As the winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly commenced in Dharamsala on December 19, the Opposition wasted no time in launching a vocal attack against the ruling Congress government. Led by former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised slogans and held protests outside the Vidhan Sabha building, questioning the fulfillment of promises made by the Congress during its first cabinet meeting.

Broken Promises and Mounting Debt:

The BJP’s main grievance centered around the alleged failure of the Congress government to deliver on its guaranteed pledges. Thakur, speaking on behalf of the Opposition, pointed out that not a single guarantee has been fulfilled to date, leaving the people disillusioned and frustrated. He further argued that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi possesses the power and commitment to fulfill such promises.

Job Cuts and Financial Concerns:

The Opposition also expressed strong concern about the recent removal of 10,000 outsourced employees by the government. This decision, coupled with the alarming rise in the state’s debt burden to a record-breaking 12,000 crores, fueled further criticism and raised questions about the government’s economic management.

A Session of Scrutiny and Debate:

The opening day of the winter session set the stage for a turbulent and politically charged session. The BJP’s aggressive stance and the Congress government’s defense on unfulfilled promises and financial issues are likely to dominate the proceedings in the coming days.
