Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Attends Maha Yajna, Underscores Importance of Preserving Cultural Heritage
Shimla, January 7, 2024: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu joined the three-day “Maha Yajna” (Shant) held after 36 years in Gavas, Rohru assembly constituency of Shimla district. Paying his respects at the temple of deity Gudaru Ji Maharaj, he offered prayers for the state’s happiness and prosperity.
Celebrating Dev Culture and Heritage: Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister commended the local community and highlighted the distinct identity and deep faith associated with Himachal Pradesh’s “Dev culture.” He lauded the Maha Yajna as a testament to the state’s ancient culture and emphasized the importance of preserving traditions and heritage.
Commitment to Cultural Preservation: Sukhu affirmed the state government’s commitment to safeguarding the rich “Dev Sanskriti” and cultural tapestry of Himachal Pradesh. He urged the people to actively participate in conservation efforts and acknowledged the state’s long-standing reputation for its vibrant cultural legacy.
Warm Welcome and Grand Gathering: The Chief Minister received a warm welcome from the local residents, with thousands participating in the Maha Yajna. Seven deities and 13 Khunds from Rohru and Jubbal areas were represented in the Yajna, making it a significant cultural event.
Joining in the Festivities: Congress State President and MP Pratibha Singh, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mohan Lal Brakta also graced the occasion, offering their greetings to the community and welcoming the Chief Minister.
