Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme at Bada Bhanjaal in Gagret assembly constituency of Una district on Thursday. The program’s objective is to resolve the grievances of the people at their doorsteps and reach out to the last person in the row.

Key announcements by the Chief Minister:

Opening of Deputy Superintendent of Police office in Gagret.
Allocation of Rs. 50 lakh for the stadium at Banjhaal.
Upgradation of Community Health Centre at Daulatpur to Civil Hospital.
Opening of a college at Gagret upon land availability.
Discussions underway with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for setting up a Rs 175 crore ethanol plant at Jeetpur-Behri.

Other key points from the Chief Minister’s speech:

The government is committed to the welfare of the people and has resolved 65,000 mutation cases and 4,000 partition cases through Lok Adalats.
In Una district, 3,713 mutation cases and 1,107 partition cases were disposed of through Lok Adalats.
Rs 4.10 crore has been distributed to families affected by heavy rains in Una district.
Rs 25.18 lakh has been provided to 238 children under the Chief Minister Sukh Ashraya Yojna.
The government will provide 21,000 jobs in the government sector and Rs 680 crore Rajeev Gandhi Start-up Yojna will create employment for youth.
The Chief Minister opposed the Agniveer Scheme of the Union Government, stating that 75% of Agniveers will be sent back home after four years of service.
He criticized the previous BJP government for financial mismanagement, leading to a per capita debt of Rs 1.02 lakh.
Despite financial constraints, the state government is trying to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant and has restored the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
The economy has improved by 20% and the government has obtained additional income of Rs 850 crore from the auction of liquor vends.
