In a significant move to address waste management challenges in rural areas, the Himachal Pradesh Rural Development Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Healing Himalayas Foundation. This partnership aims to implement sustainable waste management solutions, including segregation, recycling, and eco-friendly disposal, particularly in environmentally sensitive and rural regions of the state.
The MoU was signed in the presence of senior officials from the Rural Development Department and representatives of Healing Himalayas Foundation, a non-governmental organization acclaimed for its dedication to environmental preservation in the Himalayan region.
Key Stakeholders Highlight Collaborative Vision
Raghav Sharma, Director of Rural Development, emphasized the state’s commitment to addressing rural waste management issues through innovative and scalable solutions. “This collaboration with Healing Himalayas Foundation reflects our resolve to create a model for sustainable waste management that positively impacts both rural communities and the environment,” he stated.
Pradeep Sangwan, President of Healing Himalayas Foundation, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to partner with the state. “Our foundation is deeply committed to protecting the fragile Himalayan ecosystem. This collaboration will amplify our efforts to promote responsible waste management and encourage eco-conscious practices among rural communities,” he remarked.
