In a swift and successful operation, the Nurpur district police in Himachal Pradesh, aided by local youth, rescued a seven-year-old boy who had been kidnapped from the Bodh-Chakki link road in Pathankot.
The Incident: The child was abducted on the afternoon of while returning home from school in Shah Colony, Pathankot.
Police Response: Upon receiving information from the Pathankot police, the Nurpur SP, Ashok Ratan, immediately mobilized police teams to locate the missing child and apprehend the kidnappers.
Investigation and Rescue:
- CCTV Analysis: The police meticulously examined CCTV footage from Kandwal and Jassur, identifying potential leads.
- Intensified Vigil: Based on the evidence, the police increased their presence on the Nagabari-Hadal-Ondh link road.
- Successful Recovery: After a three-hour search, the child was found under the Chakki bridge. When confronted by the rescue team, the kidnappers fled the scene.
Arrest and Investigation: The police have identified both kidnappers and have launched a massive manhunt to apprehend them. One of the accused is believed to be from Ganhi-Lagor village in Nurpur and has a prior criminal record with the Chamba police.
