The Meteorological Department’s Shimla center has forecasted chances of rain in Himachal Pradesh from February 17th to 22nd. Disaster management in Himachal Pradesh has also issued advisories in this regard.

According to the weather bulletin released on Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock, a ‘very active western disturbance’ is approaching. This disturbance will advance from areas connected to Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti on February 17th and will have a significant impact until February 21st. Heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected in Shimla city on February 19th and 20th.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall and snowfall are anticipated in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur, Shimla, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti on February 19th and 20th. Additionally, hailstorms are likely to occur in various parts of the state, including Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, and Solan from February 17th to 20th. The temperature is expected to drop by three to four degrees during this period. The Meteorological Department advises caution during this time, and disaster management authorities have appealed to the public to stay vigilant and follow advisories through social media channels.
