Hoshiar Singh Accused of Arrogance and Misusing Development Funds by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has accused BJP candidate Hoshiar Singh of arrogance and misusing development funds meant for the Dehra assembly constituency. During a campaign rally in Dehra, CM Sukhu claimed that instead of spending the ₹12 crore allocated for development over six years, Hoshiar Singh built a resort for himself.

The Chief Minister stated that Hoshiar Singh resigned as an independent MLA due to “arrogance of money” and pressure from BJP to accept his resignation to get the second installment of a deal[1]. He alleged that the sold-out MLAs will come with money to buy votes, and urged the public to take double the money but vote for Congress.

CM Sukhu said that Dehra has now become his constituency and all problems will be solved in the coming time. He mentioned that the state government is providing funds to complete the new bus stand at Haripur and accelerating other development projects. The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s initiatives like restoring the old pension scheme, increasing MNREGA wages, providing financial assistance to widows and the elderly, and purchasing cow and buffalo milk at higher rates.

Despite not getting help from BJP, the state government has rehabilitated 22,000 families affected by last year’s disaster and increased compensation amounts. The Chief Minister welcomed retired Naib Tehsildar Prem Lal Kaundal and retired ITBP Inspector Bhumi Singh to the Congress party.

CM Sukhu’s accusations against Hoshiar Singh and the BJP highlight the ongoing political tensions in Himachal Pradesh. The Dehra by-election is seen as a crucial test for both parties, and the Chief Minister’s aggressive campaigning suggests the Congress is confident of retaining the seat.
