HRTC Launches Special Buses for Diwali Homecoming

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has initiated a special bus service starting from Tuesday to facilitate the homecoming of Himachal Pradesh residents from other states during Diwali. The corporation is operating additional buses on various routes originating from Delhi, Chandigarh, Baddi, Nalagarh, and Shimla to all districts within the state.

These special buses will supplement the existing regular services and will be stationed at bus stands. They will commence their journeys as soon as they are filled with passengers according to their respective routes. In case the demand for buses to a particular district exceeds the available capacity at a bus stand, the management will deploy additional buses. To ensure smooth operations, HRTC has stationed inspectors at bus terminals in Delhi, Chandigarh, Baddi, Nalagarh, and across the state.

To cater to the increased demand during the festive season, 29 special buses will be operated from Chandigarh and Baddi on Tuesday. Additionally, on Wednesday, the corporation plans to run 116 special buses from Chandigarh, Delhi, and Baddi.

To accommodate the return journey of passengers after Diwali, HRTC will operate special buses on November 3rd and 4th. These buses will be deployed from all district headquarters to Delhi, Chandigarh, and other destinations. Arrangements are being made to ensure sufficient buses at all bus stands for the return journey.

Rohan Chand Thakur, Managing Director of HRTC, stated that the corporation has launched special buses from Tuesday to facilitate the homecoming of people during Diwali. The corporation plans to operate more than 155 buses over two days. He further added that if the demand for buses increases at any bus stand, additional buses will be deployed on various routes. All district magistrates and regional managers have been instructed to ensure the availability of buses.
