Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday thanked the people of Bathinda for what he described as an overwhelming show of support for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during the recent civic body elections, calling the results a reflection of public confidence in the party’s governance and welfare-driven policies.

Addressing supporters at a public gathering in Bathinda alongside AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Mann expressed gratitude to residents who participated in large numbers despite the intense summer heat. He also congratulated newly elected Mayor Padamjit Mehta and expressed confidence in his ability to meet the expectations of the city’s residents.

Mann said the party places greater emphasis on public feedback and ground-level governance than on opinion polls and political surveys. He argued that the government’s performance should be judged by the services and benefits reaching ordinary citizens across Punjab.

The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the state government over the past four years, claiming that these measures have directly improved the lives of citizens. He pointed to free electricity for eligible households, improved power supply for farmers and the expansion of canal water networks in areas that had historically faced irrigation challenges, including parts of Bathinda district.

According to Mann, welfare and development programmes have become key pillars of the AAP government’s governance model. He cited the expansion of Aam Aadmi Clinics, efforts to strengthen government schools and hospitals, and the implementation of health insurance coverage of up to \u20b910 lakh for eligible beneficiaries as examples of the government’s focus on public services.

“The achievements belong not to the government, but to the people of Punjab,” Mann said, adding that the administration remains committed to working for the state’s development and welfare.

The remarks come in the wake of AAP’s strong performance in Punjab’s recent municipal elections, where the party secured significant victories across several urban local bodies and strengthened its political position ahead of future electoral contests.

Mann maintained that his government’s priority remains development, public welfare and improving the quality of life for citizens, while reiterating that the state administration would continue working to deliver services and infrastructure projects across Punjab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
