Haryana is looking to deepen its institutional partnership with the Indian Armed Forces, with Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth meeting Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at the latter\u2019s official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, in Chandigarh on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting focused on strengthening civil-military coordination and covered a wide range of issues, including regional security, internal security preparedness, the welfare and rehabilitation of ex-servicemen, employment opportunities for Agniveers, housing initiatives and disaster response mechanisms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was General Dhiraj Seth\u2019s first meeting with Chief Minister Saini since taking charge as Chief of Army Staff. Western Command Army Commander Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, along with senior officials from Army Headquarters and the Haryana government, also attended the meeting. The discussions were coordinated by Colonel Jasdeep Sandhu, Advisor for Civil-Military Affairs and IT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussions also touched upon initiatives aimed at promoting self-reliance. For former soldiers, the transition from military service to civilian life can involve significant professional and social adjustments. Creating opportunities in entrepreneurship, employment and other sectors can therefore form an important part of long-term rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
